HUBBY JENKINS (CAROLINA CHOCOLATE DROPS)
Hubby has a strong fan base from his work with the Carolina Chocolate Drops & with the Rhiannon Giddens band.
He has performed at Vancouver Folk Music Festival & the Winnipeg Folk Festival as a solo artist. And of course, many of the American, Canada and worldwide festivals and music halls in the Rhiannon Giddens’ band including New Orleans JazzFest, Newport Jazz Festival 2017, and the Edmonton Folk Festival.
In 2018 he performed at the Calgary Folk Festival, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; New Bedford Folk Festival, New Bedford, MA; Merlefest, Wilkesboro, NC; Old Tone Music Festival, Hillsdale NY; Moab Folk Festival, Moab, UT. In 2019 Hubby performed for the music students at the University of Chicago, a guest appearance at Jorma Kaukonen’s Fur Peace Ranch, Pomeroy, OH; the Nelsonville Festival in Nelsonville, OH; San Francisco Jazz Festival; Carbondale Arts Fair, Carbondale, CO; with Rihannon Giddens and the Boston Pops Orchestra, Boston, MA; Sugar Maple Festival, Madison, WI; Wide Open Bluegrass, Raleigh, NC; and the Moab Folk Festival, Moab, UT.
Hubby Jenkins is a talented multi-instrumentalist who endeavors to share his love and knowledge of old-time American music. Hubby performs on guitar and banjo showcasing the history of the banjo as an African-American instrument that became a big part of minstrel music and later appropriated for bluegrass and country.

Hubby formerly with the Carolina Chocolate Drops (Grammy nominated) and a member in the Rhiannon Giddens band. She was nominated for a Grammy with an album he played on in 2016 (Tomorrow Is My Turn). Hubby also recorded with Rhiannon Giddens on the 2017 album “Freedom Highway."
